SG Flensburg-Handewitt has secured two exceptional players for the future in the Costa brothers. Martim and Kiko will be calling the Flensburg Fjord home until at least 2032.
With these two Portuguese national team players, SG is not only adding two exceptional athletes to its roster but also two brothers who have been playing together for many years. Both have already demonstrated their skills at the highest level with their club and the national team. Their signing sends a strong signal about SG Flensburg-Handewitt’s athletic ambitions and, at the same time, reflects the club’s long-term vision.
“Signing Martim and Kiko is something very special for us,” says SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf. “Despite their young age, both have already shown what exceptional skills they possess. They embody dynamism, creativity, and great ambition. At the same time, we quickly sensed during our discussions that they are an excellent fit for our SG on a personal level. We are very pleased that they have both chosen Flensburg and are convinced that they will enrich our team both athletically and in terms of character.”
SG Head CoachAleš Pajović is also looking forward to the two new additions with great anticipation: “Martim and Kiko are among the most exciting players of their generation. They bring a lot of quality, game intelligence, and passion to the table, and despite their young age, they’ve already gained important experience at the top international level. At the same time, both are very down-to-earth and hungry for success—qualities that are an excellent fit for our team and our philosophy.”
Out of respect for the entire Sporting Clube de Portugal family, we will refrain from publishing videos and images and look forward to welcoming Kiko and Martim starting in the 2027–28 season.
