After five derby wins in a row, SG Flensburg-Handewitt suffered a defeat. The decisive factor for THW Kiel was their better efficiency. The sound bites.
Aleš Pajović, SG coach: "It hurts to lose at home. We did well in the first half. We didn't get off to a good start in the second half. We often had Kiel close to the timeout in defense, but then they scored from nine meters out with shots. We had a spell of five or six attacks that we couldn't stop. We then fought our way back again. But Andreas Wolff made a very strong save, especially in the final minutes. We now have two games against Montpellier in the EHF European League. If we win those, we will try to win the group in Kiel."
Emil Jakobsen, SG left wing: "My feeling is that we played well. It's annoying that we couldn't take a bigger lead into half-time. We missed too many chances after that. It's annoying that we lost. We have to put the game behind us quickly, we'll be back in action at the weekend."
