All of the SG Flensburg-Handewitt players competing at this European Championship can still advance to the medal ranks. On Sunday, the Slovenian team improved its record to 4:2 points by defeating Hungary 35:32.
Yesterday, Saturday, the Slovenian federation hosted a media call in the 20-storey hotel. Looking back on the defeat against Sweden, Domen Novak spoke of a "bonus game" and the best half of the tournament. "Everything is still possible for us," said the SG right winger. "We want to win every game." In front of 5,000 spectators in the Malmö Arena on Sunday afternoon, the Slovenians initially found it very difficult against the Hungarians and at times trailed by four goals. Domen Novak made it 15:17 at the break. His team came back well from the break. With his fourth and final goal, the SG professional put them 18:17 ahead. The Slovenians then dictated proceedings and won 35:32.

The Slovenians now have two matchdays left in the main round. On Tuesday they face Croatia at 18:00. The game against Iceland follows on Wednesday at 3.30 pm. Tomorrow, Monday, the focus returns to Herning. Denmark will play against Germany. Kick-off is at 20:30.
