It was a difficult birth. In the end, however, the SG Flensburg-Handewitt won 32:30 to earn their first two points in the EHF European League. The game continues in Eisenach on Thursday. The sound bites.
Aleš Pajović, SG coach: "This week we want four points, we have the first two now. If I'm honest, I expected a game like this after the thrashing against Kiel. Maybe it was good ft was good for the heads and the task in Eisenach to realize what happens when you're not at 100 percent. I didn't want any stress and I didn't want the decision to be made after 55 minutes. And I should actually be annoyed about the two mistakes made by the kids that reduced our lead at the end."
Lasse Møller, SG backcourt ace:"We knew that our mental performance had to be strong. But we didn't get into the game that well. We were up against players we've never played against before and we were never able to build up a lead. We did well in the endeast, but we should have won by a higher margin. In terms of results, it's a good start."
Niclas Kirkeløkke, SG left-hander:"It was a hard foughta hard-fought victory. We didn't have the pace and should have decided the game earlier. In the end, we are happy with the win, which is important for our future goals in the EHF European League."
