The SG Flensburg-Handewitt has secured the services of Icelandic international Viggó Kristjánsson. The left-handed player will join the SG Flensburg-Handewitt for the 2027/28 season and strengthen the North German club's right back line.
Kristjánsson brings several years of experience from the German Handball Bundesliga and has established himself as a reliable option at right back. The left-handed player has qualities in one-on-one play, a variable throwing game and a stable finishing rate.
SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf says: "Viggó has proven over several years in the HBL that he is one of the most effective players in his position. His finishing quality and his experience will be very good for our game. With Viggó, we are gaining a player who combines experience, intelligence and efficiency."
"Viggó is a very complete right back. He makes good decisions, is dangerous in one-on-one situations and has a very strong shooting percentage. He also knows the HBL inside out," added Head Coach Aleš Pajović.
