- SG Flensburg-Handewitt and Niclas Kirkeløkke do not extend their contract beyond 2027

Niclas Kirkeløkke's contract ends in summer 2027

The SG Flensburg-Handewitt and backcourt player Niclas Kirkeløkke will not extend their contract, which expires in the summer of 2027. Following talks, both parties have jointly come to the conclusion that the time has come for a sporting change.

Niclas Kirkeløkke has been in the SG squad since 2024 and has enriched the team both athletically and personally during this time.

SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf explains: "Niclas is a player who has always given his all for the club. After talks, we came to the joint conclusion that it makes sense for both sides to move on after the 2026/27 season. This decision is characterized by mutual respect. Until then, Niclas will continue to play with full passion for the SG and we look forward to our time together."

Niclas Kirkeløkke also looks back on his time at the SG with gratitude and will concentrate fully on his sporting goals until the end of his contract. "I have decided to return to Denmark at the end of my contract in 2027. It's important to me to be closer to my family again and to be able to spend more time with them. Until then, however, my full focus is on my last one and a half years here in Flensburg. I want to make the most of this time to give my all for the club and be successful together with the team."
