SG Flensburg-Handewitt is expanding its coaching staff: Effective immediately, Rayco Rodriguez Plata will take over as goalkeeper coach for the Bundesliga team. The Spaniard will provide individual coaching to the three SG goalkeepers, accompany the team to home and away games, and oversee goalkeeper-specific training sessions.
With this appointment, the SG is focusing on the targeted development of the goalkeeper position while simultaneously strengthening the coaching staff led by head coach Aleš Pajović.
“I’m really looking forward to this new role and the trust that SG has placed in me,” says Rayco Rodriguez Plata. “SG Flensburg-Handewitt is one of the biggest handball clubs in Europe. Being able to work with three goalkeepers at this level is an exciting challenge. My goal is to help each goalkeeper develop individually and, together with the coaching staff, create the best possible conditions for athletic success.”
SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf is also pleased with this addition to the coaching staff: “With Rayco, we’re gaining a goalkeeper coach who possesses a wealth of expertise and experience. Head Coach Aleš Pajović sees this hire as an important building block for our day-to-day work: “A specialized goalkeeper coach is of great importance to our team.
