- HBL Media Partner Dyn Will Remain on Board Through 2032

Extensive Handball Schedule

The Handball Bundesliga (HBL) and Dyn are extending their partnership early for another three years. The original agreement, under which the HBL awarded the DACH media rights for 2022 to Dyn, was set to run through the 2028–2029 season.

HBL media partner Dyn will now broadcast all matches of the Opel Handball Bundesliga, the 2nd Handball Bundesliga, and the DHB Cup—including the Lidl Final4 and the Rexel Super Cup—live and on demand through at least the end of the 2031/32 season. With this decision, both partners are ensuring planning certainty well in advance and continuing their joint efforts to further strengthen both professional leagues and the sport of handball. Dyn has continuously expanded its handball offerings since the beginning of the partnership. Starting with the upcoming 2026/27 season, all national and international competitions will be available exclusively on the sports streaming platform. At the center of this is the Opel Handball Bundesliga as the “strongest league in the world.” HBL Managing Director Frank Bohmann is confident about the continued collaboration with the media partner: “Our partnership with Dyn has been a great success for German professional handball from the very beginning. In the first three years of our reliable and highly effective partnership, we’ve succeeded in significantly boosting the media presence of our professional leagues. Since the start of our collaboration, we’ve seen steadily rising viewership numbers and are attracting more and more people to handball. With our decision to extend the partnership early, we are underscoring our conviction—and our expectation—that we will continue and continually develop our collaboration with Dyn, which has been very successful to date.”

Increase in Media Presence
Since Dyn began broadcasting in August 2023, the media presence of both professional leagues and handball in Germany has increased significantly. For example, Dyn’s average reach per game in the top division during the recently concluded 2025–26 season rose by another 20 percent compared to the previous season. At the same time, interest in handball as a sport is growing overall: According to the latest Allensbach market and media analysis, nearly 27 million people in Germany are now interested in handball—an increase of more than 10 percent compared to 2023. “We’d like to thank the Handball Bundesliga for their great trust and excellent collaboration,” says
Andreas Heyden, CEO of Dyn. “The past three years have already shown the potential that arises when the league and its media partner share the same vision. At the same time, we’re just getting started: Together, we want to get even more people excited about handball and continue to offer fans the best possible experience with innovative formats and first-class live broadcasts. This long-term partnership benefits fans, clubs, and the entire handball community.”
