Three victories and six points in five days - a record that is more than respectable. After the 38:32 victory in Eisenach, the SG Flensburg-Handewitt camp drew a positive conclusion. The sound bites.
Aleš Pajović, SG Coach: "I'm very satisfied, because it's never easy in Eisenach. We had the game under control for a long time in the first half. A big compliment to our 6-0 defense. It did a good job - despite the many one-on-ones and the backcourt transitions. The mistakes in the last few minutes before the break hurt a bit. But Eisenach also did very well with the many defense formations. We had the necessary patience, played seven-on-six and also did a good job in the second half. Now we look ahead - the EHF European League is on Tuesday."
Sebastian Hinze, coach of ThSV Eisenach: "We had big problems with Flensburg's pace in the opening spell and couldn't get a grip defensively. We didn't have the security we've had in recent weeks up front. We got back into the game with our 3:3 defense. We did a decent job of solving Flensburg's seven-on-six at the start of the second half, but didn't make enough use of this phase in attack. Flensburg were simply better in crunch time - you have to admit that. Despite scoring 32 goals, we conceded too many. That all sounds very critical, but overall I'm very happy with what the boys delivered."
Emil Jakobsen, SG left wing: "We got off to a really good start again. Our defense was very good for the first 20 minutes, allowing us to score some easy goals. Then it was suddenly pretty bad until the break. We then put in a really good performance again from the middle of the second half."
