SG wants two points in Hanover

After the international break, the SG Flensburg-Handewitt are back in the daily routine of the Bundesliga and EHF European League. The first English week comes to an end on Saturday (8 p.m.) with the game at TSV Hannover-Burgdorf.

Aleš Pajović's team can travel to Lower Saxony with optimism. After all, they left the handball court victorious against GWD Minden (35:31) and SAH-Arhus (38:32). However, the SG coach warns against the hosts.

Respect for Hanover's middle block

"We can expect a difficult away game. Hanover has recently suffered five defeats. That hurts them. That's why they're very dangerous, because they want to get back on track and win points," said Pajović and expects his team to be alert on Saturday evening. "After the win in Denmark, we came to training in a good mood. We have to refocus and deliver our performance. Hannover have a broad squad. They play a very good and aggressive 6-0 defense. We'll have to see whether Michalczik and Fischer or Feise and Stutzke are in the middle block. They are very strong defenders. They've changed a lot after the change of coach. We are also prepared for an offensive 5-1 defense. We are already well into the season and know what to expect. Hannover-Burgdorf is a strong team. But we want to pick up a lot of points ourselves in the next two months, which is why a win there is the clear goal," said the SG coach.

Simon Pytlick is also back in team training with the SG. "He has been training with us and can hopefully help us keep up the pace in attack. In defense, we want to be more compact in our 6-0 formation and score easy goals by winning the ball on the counter-attack. That's what sets us apart as an SG," said Aleš Pajović about the options for the game in Hanover. The SG coach has identified a trio there that is particularly effective in attack. "Uscins, Fischer and Michalczik are the leading players in the team and control the game. Uscins is a real throwing machine and also looks for the decision when things aren't going well. We have to defend well and help our goalkeepers," said Aleš Pajović about the three internationals. However, his own performance is the decisive factor for the SG coach. "We want to play our game with full focus and get the two points," he said, clarifying the objective once again.
