The journey to Cologne can continue. The SG Flensburg-Handewitt completed the task at TVB Stuttgart and will contest the quarter-finals of the DHB Cup shortly before Christmas.
Benjamin Burić, SG goalkeeper: "Compared to the first game a few weeks ago, Stuttgart was hardly able to win any one-on-ones against our defense despite having four backcourt players. We ran a lot and scored nine or ten easy goals in the first half. We played very consistently in the second half. We were ready and had our heads in the game from the very first minute."
Aleš Pajović, SG Coach: "We're very satisfied, that was a good game from us. We didn't expect this clear result. We controlled the pressure Stuttgart played under very well. We kept up the pace well and were able to score a lot of goals on the fast break. We did our job: We've progressed."
Misha Kaufmann, coach of TVB Stuttgart: "We're finding it brutally difficult to get a grip in defense at the moment. There's a lack of automatisms, a lack of familiarity and clear agreements in the center. Of course, that makes it difficult against a team that plays so quickly. Pajo said it right: We had enormous problems with our transition defense."
Kai Häfner, backcourt player at TVB Stuttgart: "We have to be honest: Flensburg overran us. We struggled a lot in defense; two crosses were enough against us. We lacked the automatisms that we need for the next tasks."
