#Moin Moin, Europe
- With the new EHF European League jersey, let's go back to the moment when it all began.

Some jerseys are more than just a piece of clothing—they're memories

There are jerseys that represent a single season. And there are jerseys that represent a milestone—a moment that changes a club, the beginning of a story that continues to this day.

With the new EHF European League jersey for the 2026–27 season, SG Flensburg-Handewitt, together with its equipment sponsor hummel, commemorates the first international title in the club’s history. To mark the 30th anniversary of their first victory in the 1997 EHF Cup—the predecessor to today’s EHF European League—a very special design is making its return to the European stage.

It’s the return of a classic.

The new European League jersey serves as a modern reinterpretation and homage to the SG jersey from the 1996–1997 season and also impresses with hummel’s state-of-the-art material technologies.

This jersey commemorates one of the greatest moments in SG history.

In 1997, SG Flensburg-Handewitt won the EHF Cup for the first time, claiming the first international title in the club’s history. This achievement was far more than just a cup victory; it marked the beginning of a European journey that established the SG as a fixture in the world of top-tier international handball.

Since then, many chapters have been added. European nights at “Hölle Nord.” Big victories. Emotional moments. But every story has a beginning.

And that beginning was embodied by this very jersey.

That is another reason why this jersey symbolizes the connection between generations—for the players who made history back then, for today’s team, and for the fans who have stood by the club all these years.

Some jerseys last a season. This jersey carries 30 years of history on its chest.

“Winning the 1997 EHF Cup is one of the most important moments in our club’s history. With this jersey, we commemorate the beginning of our European success story and the people who made that success possible. It was important to us to recreate the original design as authentically as possible. This jersey stands for pride, tradition, and the special connection between the past and the present. It reminds us of where we came from and is also meant to motivate us to write new chapters in our European history,” explains SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf.

The new hummel EHF European League jersey is available starting today, September 7, 2026, at the SG Fanshop, online at www.sg-fanshop.com, and at Intersport Hans Jürgensen stores.
