- A step forward against SC DHfK Leipzig?

Constant performance desired

Saturday at 7 p.m. - the SG Flensburg-Handewitt welcomes SC DHfK Leipzig to the GP JOULE Arena on this almost classic date. With a win, the hosts would move up to second place in the DAIKIN HBL.

As always, the goal is two points. However, Aleš Pajović makes no secret of the fact that he expects a little more from his team. "We had everything under control against Hamburg, Erlangen and Wetzlar, but there were always fluctuations," explained the SG coach. He demands: "I want to see a consistent performance." One starting point is of course their own defense. The attack, on the other hand, will have to deal with a compact 6:0 defense, which Aleš Pajović is very familiar with. "I coached under Frank Carstens in Magdeburg in 2011 and 2012," revealed the SG coach, who does not want to give any presents. "We are the better team - and we want to show that on the pitch." The bare figures confirm this assessment: The second-best offense in the DAIKIN HBL will face the worst.

SG back with a wider squad
A win would definitely push the SG into second place, as the Foxes visited Hamburg before Christmas and are now without a game. There is now a small gap behind them. THW Kiel lost in Stuttgart on Thursday evening and TBV Lemgo Lippe in Gummersbach. However, the Westphalians will probably get two points back at the green table - due to a breach of the rules by Rhein-Neckar Löwen. "We have to look after ourselves, the season is still long," said Aleš Pajović. In terms of personnel, things look much better than on Tuesday in Montpellier. Emil Jakobsen, Simon Pytlick and Kevin Møller trained with us on Friday. "We have a wider squad again and can manage the workload better," said Aleš Pajović. He is particularly pleased that Kent Robin Tønnesen has now returned. After a two-and-a-half-month break, the Norwegian left-back is set to make his 2026 debut on Saturday.
