International assignments

Last week, the number of international matches was high, but comparatively manageable for the SG Flensburg-Handewitt players. Only one trio made international appearances.

The DHB team played for the first time since the silver medal in Herning. On Thursday, they hosted African champions Egypt in Dortmund and won 41:38 (21:18). A second victory against Egypt followed on Sunday, a 34:33 (19:13) win in Bremen. Johannes Golla scored three goals in both games. "We played twice in front of sold-out halls," said the captain. "We were able to give back a win twice - that certainly has an after-effect." Marko Grgić was supposed to join the German team during the week following his infection last weekend, but ended up staying in the far north.

The other national teams did the same
Denmark made a guest appearance in Copenhagen and were successful three times. A 39:30 win over Norway was followed by a 41:24 victory over the USA and a 38:27 win over the Netherlands. Niclas Kirkeløkke scored a total of nine goals. Simon Pytlick was briefly with the team, but left early. Adin Faljić was delighted with a 34:23 win against Kosovo on Thursday. The 29:33 defeat in the second leg no longer hurt the Bosnians. The SG circle player scored a total of four goals. Domen Novak was on a training course with the Slovenian team. An international match was not planned.
