SG Flensburg-Handewitt can continue to count on Aksel Horgen in the future: The left-hander has extended his contract by two more years, ensuring he remains an integral part of the team and the partnership with Domen Novak.
The Norwegian right wing joined Flensburg in the summer of 2023 from the Danish club Bjerringbro-Silkeborg Håndbold and has made further significant strides in his development since then.
“Aksel has steadily improved and fulfills his role on the team perfectly,” explains SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf. “He brings the right character, a quality we need at the SG. That’s why we’re very happy that he’s continuing his journey here.”
Head coach Aleš Pajović also sees great potential: “Aksel is hungry for playing time and always puts the team first. These are exactly the kind of players we want on the SG roster. Together with Domen Novak, he brings a lot of dynamism to the right wing.”
For AkselHorgen himself, the decision was clear: “I feel the trust of the management and am very comfortable in Flensburg—in the team, at the club, and above all with our fans. That’s why I’m happy to have extended my contract. We have an exciting team now and in the future, and big goals that I want to help achieve in the coming years.”
