The 40:35 win over Montpellier HB opens up all possibilities for the SG in the EHF European League. The sound bites.
Aleš Pajović, SG coach: "We couldn't influence what happened before the game. It was a difficult start for everyone. The teams and the crowd took a while to find their rhythm, but we had to do our job. We stepped on the gas in the last ten minutes, gave the crowd a lift and won the two points. Patrick Volz took his chance very well."
Patrick Volz, SG left wing: "It was a strange game. What happened before the game didn't make it any easier. It was a long, drawn-out game, but then we minimized our mistakes and turned the game around. When I came into the game, I got two shots straight away. That was a rewarding start and it was nice to be given the confidence. I know that I have to be patient at SG, but also keep working to be ready for action."
Niclas Kirkeløkke, SG backcourt player: "Although we scored 40 goals up front, we also made a lot of mistakes in attack. Montpellier got off a lot of counter-attacks. Our switching was often a bit slow. Everything only worked well in the last 15 minutes. Maybe Montpellier got a bit tired. We showed in the final phase that we were the better team."
