SG Flensburg-Handewitt won its final home game of the 2025–26 season. On Thursday evening, the team defeated ThSV Eisenach 36–31 (21–18). The SG’s top scorers were Simon Pytlick (11) and Marko Grgić (9).
There was a lot going on in the “Hölle Nord.” The 1978 world champions took the court before tip-off. SG honorary captain Tobias Karlsson and SG legend Jim Gottfridsson were in attendance—and, of course, 6,300 spectators. Simon Pytlick showcased his impressive skills twice right off the bat. Marko Grgić also made his mark against his former club with two early goals. Nevertheless, Eisenach led 8-7 after twelve minutes. There was plenty of energy in the stands, and just as much on the court. Simon Pytlick made it 10-9 with his fourth goal. Emil Jakobsen confidently converted the penalty throw. Kevin Møller added to his save tally in his final home game. Johannes Golla finished a fast break to make it 13-11. “Completely detached,” echoed through the arena. The SG now had the upper hand. Marko Grgić powered the score to 15:12. Shortly before halftime, ThSV captain Peter Walz hit Lasse Møller—who had just come off the bench—a bit too hard and was shown a red card.

onto the halftime lead The SG entered the second half with a three-goal lead. The opening minutes were dominated by the defensive lines. Exactly five minutes in, Marko Grgić relieved the home crowd with the first goal of the second half. The home team nevertheless remained ahead by at least two goals. The fans’ support was, of course, there: “Stand up if you’re Flensburg!” Shortly thereafter, the 6-0 defense snatched a ball. Emil Jakobsen sprinted to make it 28:24 and returned to his own circle amid frenetic cheering. Simon Pytlick established the first five-goal cushion at 31:26 and engaged in an emotional exchange with the North Stand. The SG had the game under control. Marko Grgić increased the lead to 35-29. During a team timeout, Kevin Møller and Johannes Golla applauded the crowd. The final plays were met with standing ovations. Moritz Detlefsen celebrated his Bundesliga debut, while Thilo Knutzen scored the final goal.
