- The SG Flensburg-Handewitt has tied down the Slovenian international until 2031

Domen Novak sets his anchor in Flensburg

The SG Flensburg-Handewitt is setting the course for the future at an early stage: right winger Domen Novak has extended his contract on a long-term basis and will now remain loyal to the Bundesliga handball club until 2031, meaning that the Slovenian international is literally anchoring himself to the fjord and clearly committing to the SG's path.

The 27-year-old has developed into an important part of the team in a short space of time. Novak has scored 61 goals in 18 Bundesliga games and Domen is also a permanent member of the Slovenian national team at international level.

Holger Glandorf, Managing Director of SG Flensburg-Handewitt, is very pleased with the early agreement: "Domen has fitted in excellently with us, both as a player and as a person. His development is absolutely positive and is far from complete. The fact that he has made such a long-term commitment to the SG is a strong signal - for us as a club and for our path together. Domen fits in perfectly with our philosophy."

Also head coach Aleš Pajović is also delighted with his compatriot's contract extension: "Domen works very professionally, is willing to learn and brings a lot of quality to the table. His rate shows how consistently he works on himself. He takes responsibility and still has great potential. He is an important building block for our game - now and in the coming years."

Domen Novak himself is looking forward to the future at the Förde with great anticipation: "I feel very comfortable at the SG Flensburg-Handewitt and have received a lot of trust from the club and the coaching team. The fans, the arena and the whole environment are something special. That's why it quickly became clear to me: I want to stay here long-term and be successful together with the SG."
