A club like SG Flensburg-Handewitt doesn’t grow by chance. It grows out of a region that thrives on water. Out of people who stand together. Out of a community that has shaped handball far beyond Flensburg’s borders. That’s exactly the story told by this season’s new jerseys.
To mark the start of the new season, SG Flensburg-Handewitt, together with its official equipment supplier hummel, is unveiling the new home, away, and goalkeeper jerseys for the 2026–27 season. At the heart of the new design is an element that has always connected the region and the club: the wave. Inspired by the Flensburg Fjord, the new jerseys tell the story of a unique region, its people, and a club that stands for unity, passion, and handball at the highest level far beyond the city limits. The partnership with the Danish sports and lifestyle brand hummel is now entering its fourth season together.
The wave is more than just a pattern.
It represents the first and second waves for which the SG has been known for years for its fast-paced handball. It’s the wave of euphoria in the stands when “Hölle Nord” (Hell of the North) roars. It’s the flood of goals on the court and, taken as a whole, symbolizes unity. Above all, however, it stands for the eighth man—for the fans who have carried the team for generations.
Because every wave begins with a movement. And every movement is created together.
Even in the details, the new jerseys tell the story of their home. The coordinates of Flensburg on the sleeve serve as a reminder of where it all began. The hanging shoes in the historic old town and the slogan “Once Flensburg—Always Flensburg” on the back of the neck represent the connection to the region and its people.
