SG Flensburg-Handewitt is bolstering its roster for the upcoming season with Icelandic pivot Arnar Freyr Arnarsson. The 30-year-old brings not only international experience but also valuable Bundesliga experience to the north.
With his physical presence in the circle and his defensive strength, Arnarsson is expected to bolster the SG’s inner block while also providing relief at the pivot position.
SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf: “It was important for us to sign a pivot who is already familiar with the Bundesliga. The workload over the entire season is enormous, and we wanted to create the opportunity to give Blagi and Emil the necessary breaks without losing quality. Arnar has exactly the profile we were looking for—physically strong, experienced, and with great team spirit.”
SG Coach Aleš Pajović: “Arnar is a player who will be very valuable to our team both in attack and defense. He works extremely hard for his team, brings Bundesliga experience, and will give us more versatility at the pivot position.
