- SG welcomes Füchse Berlin to "Hell North"

The calm before the storm

The SG Flensburg-Handewitt have five games left in 2025. os will face the German champions Füchse Berlin tomorrow, Thursday. Kick-off in the GP JOULE Arena, which has been sold out for months, is at 7 pm.

There is already a lot of talk about this game in the run-up. All personnel issues and eventualities need to be put to one side. "We're focusing on ourselves so that we can put in our best performance," says SG coach Aleš Pajović. "With our fans behind us, we want to make the most of the home advantage and keep the two points here." The week's break since the last away game in Lemgo has done everyone good. The injured players were able to reduce their training workload somewhat or were given a day or two off. Young players from the junior team and the A-youth helped out more than usual. After the two tactical training sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, however, he still has question marks on his list of players, as Lukas Jørgensen is still complaining of back pain. Lasse Møller (metacarpal fracture) was able to ease back into team training after almost two months.

Will alot of goals be scored again?
The Füchse Berlin are not without worries either. Several key players have been out of action recently. The handball team from the Spree lost surprisingly in Kolstad, but won 32:28 in Hanover on Sunday. "They've shown that they're a very strong team even with a small squad," said Aleš Pajović, who is expecting all kinds of personnel constellations - and above all a lot of pace. "Somehow both teams can't slow down," smiled the SG coach. The SG won 38:37 in the "Hell North" last season, but suffered a 39:40 defeat in Nordhorn in preparation. However, lightning-fast attacks have not been the only thing on the agenda in recent days. Retreat behavior and the right defensive work were also major topics. The performance between the posts is also important. "If the opposing goalkeeper has 15 saves, but ours only have five - it's going to be tough," says Aleš Pajović. He tries to get the enormous motivation of his boys into exactly the right shape with a bit of relaxation.
