The SG Flensburg-Handewitt improved their away record to 11:1 points with a 35:32 win in Kassel. The sound bites.
Aleš Pajović, SG Coach: "It was very difficult to prepare well tactically this time. We didn't really know what Melsungen would come up with. But we came with the self-confidence to get two points. We were able to score some easy goals against Melsungen's 7:6. There was patience in defense and the boys were focused. We continuously scored goals in attack."
Benjamin Burić, SG goalkeeper and Thursday's birthday boy: "It doesn't matter whether you have 20 or 25 saves, the last ones are always important. I was also a bit lucky. After having real problems with Melsungen in recent years, we're now really happy that we won. There'll be a real party on the return trip."
Nikolaj Enderleit, backcourt player MT Melsungen: "We weren't cool enough in the final phase. We made too many mistakes in our 7:6 attacks, so the SG scored too often into the empty net. Over the entire 60 minutes, we had to fight harder for our goals than our opponents."
Marko Grgić, SG backcourt ace: "Our personnel situation isn't so good. But I think it's really cool that I got to play 60 minutes."
