- Weak second half against Serbia

Germany must tremble

On the third matchday of the EHF EURO 2026, the first teams booked their main round ticket. The DHB team is not one of them. They lost 27:30 on Saturday evening.

9130 spectators came to the Jyske Boxen Arena to spend the weekend with the German team. They initially struggled against Serbia, but then the 2016 European champions gradually took control. The build-up play by Flensburg-born Juri Knorr was worth seeing. Johannes Golla made it 12:10 and the DHB team led 17:13 at half-time. However, the second half was not at all to the liking of the German fans. Suddenly Serbia had equalized. Marko Grgić, who incidentally shares a hotel room with Johannes Golla, made a brief appearance. However, the German handball players were no longer able to reverse the negative trend. "There were far too many mistakes up front," said a disappointed national coach Alfred Gislason.

What happens next
The DHB team's next game is on Monday. Then they will play Spain at 8.30 pm to advance. Tomorrow, Sunday, the focus will initially be on other seasons. The Danes will play Romania at 8.30 pm. At the same time, Slovenia will play Switzerland in Oslo.
