- Slovenia turn a crazy game around

Denmark picks up speed

The Danes marched against Romania in the second half. All six SG Flensburg-Handewitt players appeared on the match report for the first time. A seventh, namely Domen Novak, won an almost lost game against Switzerland with Slovenia.

In front of almost 15,000 spectators, Kevin Møller was in charge of the Danish goal from the start for the first time and had saved seven shots by the break, although the 6:0 defense was not particularly good. The pace ruled at the front. Simon Pytlick scored seven times up to half-time (22:17). Emil Jakobsen was on hand four times. He played the first 30 minutes and only came back for one seven-meter penalty after the break. "The atmosphere in the arena is always fantastic," the left wing had already known beforehand. He also knew that they could expect "an intense game against the physical Romanians". The favorites quickly made things clear in the second half. Lasse Møller celebrated his European Championship debut in the final quarter of an hour and scored his first goal at 32:20, followed by two more. The final score was 39:24. Kevin Møller saved a total of 17 shots and was named player of the day. The evening went less well for Lukas Jørgensen. The pivot injured his foot during a short spell and disappeared into the dressing room early.

Crazy game in Oslo
Probably the most curious game of the tournament so far took place in one of the two Norwegian groups in the evening. The Slovenians got off to a false start and ran through the game against Switzerland with a heavy rucksack for a long time. The score was 22:29 after 44 minutes, but then everything went in the south-east Europeans' favor. They actually went on to win 38:35 and secured their ticket to the main round. Domen Novak, who scored six times - five of them from the seven-meter line - was right in the middle of the celebrations.

Here's what happens next
Things get serious for the German team tomorrow, Monday. Only a three-goal win against Spain will guarantee progress. Kick-off is at 20:30. This time it will be broadcast by ZDF. It is conceivable that the result of the preceding match between Serbia and Austria will change the constellation. On Tuesday, it will be the turn of the other seasons. From SG's point of view, two matches at 8.30 pm are particularly interesting. Denmark will play Portugal for points in the main round, as will Slovenia against the Faroe Islands.
