- SG Unveils New Naming Partner for Its Home Arena

The GP JOULE Arena will become the GGW Arena

SG Flensburg-Handewitt’s home arena is getting a new name: Effective immediately, the GP JOULE Arena will be known as the GGW Arena. The naming rights agreement with GP JOULE, which was originally set to run through 2027, is ending early.

As the company seeks to refocus its strategic priorities, the naming partnership for the Flensburg team’s home arena is ending early. The SG thanks GP JOULE for the trusting collaboration over the past years and is pleased that the company will remain a business partner of the club. At the same time, the SG is delighted to have the GGW Group as a strong partner that is stepping in at short notice as the new title sponsor.

GGW Takes Over the Naming Rights on Short Notice

The fact that the SG’s home arena is seamlessly securing a new naming sponsor is thanks to the close and trusting collaboration within the partner network of balticfinance and Nordic Network. The GGW Group is taking over the naming rights on short notice, thereby sending a strong signal of its commitment to SG Flensburg-Handewitt.

“We are very grateful that the GGW Group was willing to take on this responsibility without hesitation. This commitment demonstrates what sets our partner network apart: reliability, solidarity, and a willingness to find solutions together. As the parent company of balticfinance, the GGW Group has been a valuable partner to the SG for years, and we are very pleased that our home arena will bear the name GGW Arena in the future,” said SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf.

“As a partner of the SG, it quickly became clear to us that we wanted to do our part in this situation. SG Flensburg-Handewitt stands for top-level handball, passion, and strong regional ties—values with which we at the GGW Group strongly identify. “We look forward to lending our name to the new GGW Arena and continuing our successful partnership with SG,” said Klaus Krützfeldt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at balticfinance, on behalf of the GGW Group.
