- Reactions to the victory in Hanover

“The attack was world-class”

SG Flensburg-Handewitt has done it. They have reached the EHF Finals in Hamburg for the third year in a row. Here are their comments.

Aleš Pajović, SG Coach: “I didn’t expect 43 goals. We played very well, and our backcourt was outstanding. It was very important that we went into halftime with a 5-1 run. That momentum helped us at the start of the second half. After that, we controlled the game. We had good solutions against the seven-on-six situation. We also had some key saves. It was wonderful to see how much joy the guys took in playing.”

Johannes Golla, SG Captain: “We’re very happy about the win. We’ve achieved one of the first goals we set for ourselves at the start of the season. It means a lot to the club and the fans that we’re back in Hamburg. I have such good memories of the last two years that I’m already looking forward to it. In Hannover, we were very composed down the stretch, even though it started off hectic. At first, everything was working for Hannover, but then we stepped up our defense. It was good that we went into halftime with a lead. The three quick goals afterward dampened the mood in the arena a bit, but we consistently pushed our tempo and deserved the win.”

Emil Jakobsen, SG Left Wing: “I’m really happy with our performance. The first half was a bit strange, but the last five minutes were really strong. Once we were able to build on that right after the break, we had everything under control. Now we’re aiming for the hat trick in Hamburg.”

Kevin Møller, SG goalkeeper: “We’re happy to be back in Hamburg, our home turf. The defense held up well for 40 minutes; in the second half, we only let in 15 goals. Those were good conditions for a goalkeeper. The offense was outstanding—it was world-class!”
