The SG Flensburg-Handewitt has responded to the absence of Lukas Jørgensen due to injury by signing Bosnian international Adin Faljić.
The 25-year-old pivot, who learned to play handball at Krivaja Zavidovići in Bosnia-Herzegovina, is moving from Croatian Champions League side RK Zagreb to the Flensburg Fjord and has signed a contract until the end of the season.
"The loss of Lukas Jørgensen forced us to react at short notice. In Adin Faljić, we're getting an internationally experienced pivot who knows the game in this position and can help immediately," explained SG Managing Director Holger Glandorf. " He brings a physical presence, stability in defense and experience from the Champions League - exactly what we need right now."
Head Coach Aleš Pajović added: "Adin is a classic pivot with a lot of physicality and good game intelligence. He knows how to hold his own against robust defenses and is tactically very disciplined. Despite the short familiarization period, I am convinced that he will quickly give our team confidence."
Adin Faljić himself had this to say about his transfer: "I'm delighted to have the chance to play for Flensburg in the future. After my time in Zagreb, for which I am very grateful to the club and everyone involved, I am now highly motivated to develop further and take on responsibility at the highest level. I have worked my whole career for such an opportunity and will do everything I can to fulfill the trust of the club, the players and the fans."
