SG Flensburg-Handewitt started the 2026/27 season with 4:0 points. However, their performance against Bergischer HC had its ups and downs. Here are some quotes.
Simon Möller, SG goalkeeper: “We got off to a very good start on both offense and defense. But what happened next reminded me a bit of the game against Eisenach. In the second half, our defense was very strong. It was the key to our success. It was great to be able to play with so much passion. That’s what makes handball fun. With a win, even seven hours on the bus are no problem.”
Johannes Wasielewski, BHC backcourt player: “We blew the first ten minutes in both halves. We never gave up and fought our way back, but that wasn’t enough against a team of Flensburg’s caliber.”
Marko Grgić, SG backcourt player (at halftime): “That was actually decent. But it was unnecessary that we went on a 0–3 run after getting off to a quick 6–0 lead. If we’d avoided that, things would have been more relaxed at halftime.”
