Hans-Dieter Schmitz (born 13 October 1947) is a very experienced coach. He has worked for four other Bundesliga teams and celebrated his biggest successes with TUSEM Essen, winning the German championship in 1989 and the European cup in 1989 and 2005. Since December 2009, he has been working for Bergischer HC.
