Gummersbach visiting

Another home win for the SG? (Kopie 1)

After a ten-day break, the SG Flensburg-Handewitt is back in action at Campushalle. Against VfL Gummersbach, the SG won the last game at home 29-25 but the team is much different now. Goalkeeper Goran Stojanovic and back player Drago Vukovic left the club, Croatian left wing Goran Sprem joined the team only recently.

"If we concentrate on our game I'm convinced that we can win this game in front of our fans," SG playmaker Thomas Mogensen says. He believes in his team's strengths. "Gummersbach has a lot of tradition but they haven't had the results this season. That's quite normal though when you lose two of your best players."

Gummersbach's most important players this season are German internationals Adrian Pfahl and Patrick Wiencek, together with French players Kentin Mahé and Igor Anic as well as Croatian international Vedran Zrnic. Last weekend, the team celebrated the second home win this season, winning 35-32 against Hüttenberg.

The SG had a weekend off and went to see the football match between Hamburger SV and Hoffenheim. Apart from that, the team had some good training sessions. "It was good to work together after we had a rather busy October," Mogensen says.
