SG looking for revenge against Lemgo

10.05.2011 14:25

On Wednesday, the SG Flensburg-Handewitt will play the next Bundesliga game at home against TBV Lemgo (8.15pm). In December, the SG lost at Lemgo after a lot of gruelling travelling in the Champions League and is looking for revenge now. Michael Knudsen is looking forward to the game. "We´ve shown that we´re able to compete for titles when we reached the DHB Cup final. Now, it´s all about the last games in the league and we definitely want to finish in fifth place."

Right wing Lasse Svan Hansen will be out with a groin injury. "The season is probably over for him," says SG coach Ljubomir Vranjes. The same is true for Támas Mocsai who broke his right hand. Whether Dan Beutler will be playing is questionable. "We´ll have to make do with some players from our junior team," Vranjes says.

"I´m already thinking about the new season," Vranjes adds and does not want to risk any more injuries. He does, however, want to rack up some more points to give the fans and his team a good ending to the season.

Lemgo comes with right back Holger Glandorf who will be joining the SG this summer. "They´re a good team, no doubt about it. They had some good games, but they also had too many bad games, that´s the reason why they´re behind us in the standings. We definitely want to win the game on Wednesday, no matter how good Lemgo is playing," Vranjes underlines.
