Alexander Petersson celebrated at Breslau. With a 29-25 win against Sweden, the SG´s right wing will go to this year´s Summer Olympics in Beijing along with Iceland´s national team. Petersson scored three goals, he scored four times in the earlier games against Argentina (36-27) and Poland (28-34).

Sweden won´t take part in the Olympic tournament. A 33-21 win against Argentina and a draw (22-22) against Poland were not enough to qualify. Therefore, Oscar Carlén, who scored three goals in the tournament, will start the preparation for the new season with the SG on July 23.

Denmark with some more SG players was already qualified being European champion.
