The “Nordlichter” (Northern Lights) – The Third Fan Club
In June 2005, although it was the off-season, 17 SG Flensburg-Handewitt followers were up to something – they formed a third fan club. The club’s new name: “Nordlichter” (Northern Lights). In the “Zum Wikinger” tavern in Handewitt, Rainer Groth was elected as Chairman and Ralf Hilker as Vice-Chairman. The public premier of the new club took place on August 25, 2007 during the Jacob Cement Cup.
The “Nordlichter” put up their information stand to the right of the entrance in the foyer of the Campus Arena. The purpose of the club was self-explanatory. First and Foremost, the SG should be supported at home matches. In doing so, the “Nordlichter” – as emphasized by the Danish flag in the club logo – would like to integrate Danish fans.
The fan club offers its members the following:
• a free fan T-Shirt
• discounted prices for different shirts and other fan club items
• club celebration once a year
• Up-to-date information from the info stand at home matches, the website, and the chairmen
• Organization of trips to away matches
• Organization of entrance tickets
